By definition, slaves do not have shares in the systems that enslave them. The incentive to trap them, take them from their families and turn them into slaves is not an act of benevolence, but a calculated commercial decision on supply and demand. So long as rich nations and their companies wish for products to be made cheaply by slaves held in poorer countries, then there will always be the incentive for owners of those factories or plantations to find more slaves. So if people in wealthy nations truly cared about ending modern slavery, all they would have to do is stop purchasing products made by slaves and hold companies in their own country to account, who make huge profits from slave labour.
