| The general understanding of a member is any individual who belongs to a group of people, sharing a common identity, whether it be a company, an association, or society such as a nation. |
| A "citizen" is frequently interpreted as being an equal member of a society. However, citizenship can also imply lesser rights than others within the same community. It is why the term member is used to describe all relationships within the Ucadian societies. |
| However, Ucadian societies are unique in that membership extends not only to all men and women but all higher order life and deceased men, women and higher order spirits for certain key societies such as the Society of One Heaven as a right which cannot be abrogated. |
| Therefore, all living men and women on the planet are ipso facto (as a matter of fact of law) members of the Society of One Heaven and the Globe Union Free Society and one region Union Free Society as well as member of at least one National Free Society whether they acknowledge their membership or not. |
| When individuals come to one of the many Ucadian free society sites, they do not "join", but instead "redeem" their pre-existing membership number. |
